Shanghai Xinyang Zhijia Dachang Nursing Home
This project converts a former office building into a premium senior care facility. It embraces the life aesthetics of Guochao color schemes and adopts a design concept of micro-communities and lifestyle clusters.
Positioned as a mid-to-high-end nursing home, Shanghai CITIC Dachang Xinyang Zhijia takes root in Shanghai—a vibrant, multicultural metropolis. Drawing inspiration from an in-depth interpretation of the project’s positioning, the design translates Shanghai-style culture into architectural language, reimagining the exquisite lifestyle of "a typical Shanghai household".
Design Positioning: To create a de-institutionalized, socially diverse senior care product.Design Highlights: Guochao color palette, multi-scenario spatial layout, and high-capacity storage solutions.Design Logic: With the optimal balance of spatial organization and bed-to-area ratio as the primary design priority, the supporting spaces are designed to be compact yet highly adaptable, enabling seamless conversion between multiple functional scenarios.Design Sustainability: The ground-floor dining hall is branded as a "Social Lobby". Beyond its core function of serving three daily meals, it is divided into a network of intimate social zones that can host festive events, accommodate family visits and consultations, or serve as a leisure space for seniors to gather after meals, maximizing spatial versatility. On each floor, the distributed living and activity areas serve not only as basic spaces for communication and dining, but also as convertible multi-functional zones that can be transformed into neighborhood salons, reading corners, calligraphy and painting studios, DIY kitchens, and more.
