Cultural Exhibition Center
The project aims to create a new engine for cultural tourism that is rooted in the grotto context yet boldly transcends traditional forms. It is not merely a pearl in the regional tourism landscape, but an attempt to construct a new model of urban economy and consumption that is shared by both residents and visitors.
The design is deeply rooted in reflections on locality, drawing inspiration from the rolling hilly terrain of Western Zhejiang to recreate the native memory of "crossing hills from one village to another," which is embedded in the cultural DNA of the locals. We have given this site-specific social and humanistic emotion a modern interpretation, ensuring the building is not an isolated volume but one that blends seamlessly with the earthscape. The lighting nestled between the stacked plates renders the night view of the architecture transparent and textured.
We emphasize narrativity in our design; the architecture itself is a destination, a carrier of emotional value, and a vessel for storytelling. Through spatial language, it bridges the modern with the ancient, and the local with the global. Here, the building is not merely a scenic attraction for tourists, but a backdrop for urban public life and a venue for various public events, bearing the weight of history while performing the vitality of the contemporary.

The proposal strives to achieve a unity between "iconic scenes" and "blurred boundaries." We transform the fluid, undulating roof system into a natural stage for signature events. It is not only a visual landmark but also a unique experiential scenario of "traversing the hills," making every encounter dramatic. Simultaneously, we break down traditional architectural walls to enable borderless, three-dimensional wandering. Through a layout characterized by "compact functions and porous circulation," the entrance plaza connects seamlessly with the interior landscape. The gentle functional spaces and the flowing roof interpenetrate, allowing the architecture to truly integrate into the urban fabric and become an accessible part of the residents' daily lives.
