GN Architects' Partner Guan Yiqun Re-elected as International Juror for the WAN Awards

The 2024 WAN Awards jury has been announced. Fifty-one jurors from around the world will conduct a rigorous and professional review of entries across all categories. Mr. Guan Yiqun, Managing Partner of GN Architects, has been invited to serve on the international jury for the competition again.

The WAN Awards, hosted by the renowned British design media, World Architecture News, honor outstanding designs that are reshaping the human landscape and redefining the spaces in which we live, work, and experience life. GN Architects was previously awarded the world's only WAN Awards Architect/Practice of the Year award.

Guan Yiqun, Managing Partner of GN Architects, is a Chinese healthcare design expert. He holds a Master of Architecture from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, is a Chartered Architect of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), a Distinguished Expert of the Shanghai Urban Renewal Research Association, and an Expert Member of the Elderly Care Facilities Professional Committee of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization. As a leading practitioner and researcher in China's healthcare design field, he is dedicated to promoting the development of health and elderly care architectural design in China. He is also a passionate proponent of the concepts of "age-friendly environments" and "Design for All." Using the design practice of senior living communities as a starting point for his reflection on the "ideal community," he advocates for rebuilding "nearby" community life. He also proposes sociological design concepts such as "informality," "weak boundaries," and "strong connections." He has participated extensively in the development and revision of national and group standards.

Taikang Shen Garden and Joyful Healthcare Community Center, designed by Guan Yiqun's team, have both won the WAN Gold Award in the Healthcare category for two consecutive years.
