GN Architects Showcases "Joyful Community" at World Architecture Festival 2024 (WAF)

2025 / Singapore

The World Architecture Festival 2024 (WAF) was held from November 6th to 8th at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre in Singapore. Founded in 2008, WAF is one of the world's largest and most prestigious architectural events, held annually in a different city, bringing together architects and designers from around the globe. This global architectural event integrates competition judging, awards ceremonies, conferences, forums, and knowledge dissemination, dedicated to recognizing, sharing, and encouraging outstanding architectural design.

GN Architects' wellness design project, Joyful Community (a landmark CCRC project in Shanghai, China), was successfully selected for the Completed Buildings-Mixed Use category at this year's WAF. Mr. Guan Yiqun, Partner of GN Architects, represented the project design team at the WAF Singapore event, delivering a presentation on the project and engaging in multifaceted exchanges and discussions with outstanding designers from around the world.

This year's WAF received over 2,000 entries from around the world, with only 396 works selected for the on-site exhibition in Singapore.

WAF 2024, with "Tomorrow" as its annual conference theme, focused on the future development of the architecture industry under multiple trends such as population migration, urban growth, digital technology, artificial intelligence, immersive environments, and cultural change. Architects, interior designers, and landscape designers from around the world gathered to discuss cutting-edge industry trends and development directions.

Many internationally renowned firms, including BIG, Foster + Partners, AECOM, EAA, and MVRDV, also participated in the on-site exchange. GN Architects was invited to participate in this grand event, showcasing their work and perspectives to engage in dialogue with the world. They will continue to bring more localized wellness design to the international stage and explore more possibilities in architectural design.
